In Tourism, You Need Video. It’s Not So Hard.

I’ve talked before about the need for video to market your small business.

The reason I really like to see tourism businesses like yours have video is for three reasons:

It’s personable. It brings your small business personality to live. Whether you’re friendly, sassy, or full of energy, that’s so easy to convey with video.
It’s experiential. Video offers a lot of tactile sensations at once – you get visuals, you get audio. How many times have you jumped when watching a movie because your brain forgot for a second that it wasn’t real?
It’s a preview. Videos are a clear-cut peek into “this is what you are going to get.”
At the end of the day, if you have a video, you will sway buyers on the fence to choose you. That’s my opinion, but I’m very certain of it.

Here’s a great example video. Notice the following:

Short: it isn’t an epic
Simple: it’s not a Hollywood blockbuster, but it’s professional
Hits the highlights: Notice how it shows the company’s Ideal Customers at the beginning, and then the experience itself, and at the end, when you see him safely arrive at the other end, you get to meet one of the staff that will greet you at the end of your ride. Yes, yes, yes!
